Graduate School Support
Graduate School Support
Each year the Graduate School entertains requests from faculty members for research support, due about the middle of September. See the Graduate School Website regarding the specifics of allowable items for support. The Graduate School has a strong preference for acting as insurance for requests to outside agencies. The implication appears to be that you should be applying elsewhere and use Graduate School support as a backup in case the outside funding does not materialize. Applications must be submitted electronically. Information is sent out annually to all faculty members (also available from the Grants Manager). Check math website under Information, click on Forms for Financial Information.
The Graduate School also makes some funds available for faculty travel to both domestic and international meetings. Domestic travel eligibility is once in two fiscal years and is restricted to meetings that can be documented to have a strong positive contribution to your research program. International travel eligibility is once in a three ‘fiscal year’ period and is restricted to invited major participation in a major international meeting. Domestic support will be up to $500 and international travel grants will be based on regular APEX rates. University Travel Expense Reports and receipts will be required for reimbursement.
